Ridge Elementary School Teacher Named Ted Brigham Teacher of the YearRidge Elementary School fourth-grade teacher Kathleen Lemma has been named the Suffolk Region PTA Ted Brigham Teacher of the Year. 

The award is given to one teacher in Suffolk County who demonstrates his or her commitment to the objects and mission of the PTA. The recipient goes above and beyond the normal expectations of their profession and reflects their firm belief in a partnership for education. 

The Ted Brigham Teacher of the Year Award was established to honor the memory of Ted Brigham, an outstanding teacher who lost a long battle with cancer.  Throughout his life, he encouraged parents to be involved in the education of their children.  His years of service further demonstrated his commitment to the welfare of children as an active member of the PTA.
