School Mask Requirements

As you may know, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently revised its guidance, announcing that vaccinated people are no longer required to wear masks outdoors and in some indoor settings.

While our continued decline in positive cases and this most recent announcement from the CDC leave us feeling positive and hopeful for the future, our district and others must continue to carefully follow the guidance from the New York State Department of Health and the Suffolk County Department of Health as we have since the start of the pandemic.

At this time, the guidance from these departments has not changed regarding the mask policy related to school districts.   Therefore, all current policies and mask requirements remain in effect for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year.

According to the Suffolk County Department of Health, "Pre-K schools are exempt from New York State guidance for fully vaccinated people and must continue to follow the state's existing COVID-19 health guidelines until more New Yorkers are fully vaccinated."

As we move closer to the end of the school year and begin to feel a sense of normalcy return to our classrooms, we thank you for your continued support, flexibility, and understanding.
