LMS Welcomes New Assistant Principal

LMS Welcomes New Assistant PrincipalThe district is pleased to announce the appointment of Martine Francois-DePass to the position of assistant principal at Longwood Middle School.
“Ms. Francois-Pass’ strong professional experience in instruction, assessment, leadership, and community outreach provides her with the skills needed to step into the assistant principal role,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Michael R. Lonergan. “We’re happy to have her join our school leadership team to continue our efforts to transform teaching and learning that benefits every child.”
Ms. Francois-Pass’ most recently served as a teacher at PS/IS 266 in Bellerose, where she taught students from kindergarten through fifth grade. In addition to teaching, she was a member of the Instructional Leadership Team, launched teacher collaboration programs focusing on professional development, and supervised student teachers. Before her position at PS/IS 266, she taught third through fifth grades at The Charles James Fox School in the Bronx. 
“I look forward to working with such a dedicated school community, and continuing to build on the strong relationships that support the academic, social, and emotional development of students,” said Ms. Francois-Pass.
She received her bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Stony Brook University and earned a master’s degree in Curriculum and Teaching from Fordham University, and has an Advanced Certificate in Educational Leadership from Long Island University, C.W. Post.
