Longwood School District participates in the grant-funded New York State Universal Pre-Kindergarten Program. All children who will be four years old on or before December 1, 2017, are eligible to apply for the program.
Applications will be mailed in April, but you must call to be placed on the mailing list. The placement lottery will be held in June. Parents will be notified in July, by mail, if their child has been placed in the program or if their child is placed on the waiting list awaiting an opening in the program.
The Universal Pre-K program follows the Longwood School District student calendar, and parents are responsible for transporting their child to the program. Universal Pre-K is a state funded, weekly half-day program pending state budget approval.
If you are requesting an application, please supply your child’s name, date of birth, mailing address and phone number to Lena Boroumand at (631) 698-2491 or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than April 30, 2017.
